NICOLAS LEUTWILER BECOMES THE FIRST GT4 ITALY CHAMPION IN MISANO

The grand finale of the 2023 season by FX Racing Weekend, which took place in the spectacular setting of the Misano World Circuit, certainly lived up to expectations. Three days of frenetic activity on the track characterized the final round of a year full of satisfactions for the series organized by Luca Panizzi, awarding thirteen overall titles and giving life to over thirty races, all broadcast in live streaming. Almost 250 drivers battled along the 4226 meters of the racetrack named after Marco Simoncelli, in an event that laid the foundations for a 2024 that promises to be full of innovations for the prestigious Italian racing container.

Nicolas Leutwiler was the first to enroll his name in the GT4 Italy roll of honour. The expert Swiss driver, bearer of Centro Porsche Ticino, won the title of the series which enjoys the official SRO Motorsports Group licence, thanks to the second place obtained in race 1 behind Pierluigi Veronesi (Autorlando Sport) and the success achieved in the second heat ahead of Gianpiero Cristoni. The Slovenian duo formed by Andrej Lah and Matej Kosic (Lema Racing) obtained the third step of the podium, while the third title contender Tommaso Lovati was forced to surrender after an accident in qualifying.

The podium of the first GT4 Italy season therefore saw Nicolas Leutwiler triumph in the overall classification with 215, preceding Pierluigi Veronesi and Giampiero Cristoni respectively at 175 and 125. The Swiss driver also triumphed in the GT4 class, prevailing over Dario Cerati, while in the GT4 Cup Pierluigi Veronesi took the win ahead of his teammate Cristoni.
