FX Racing Weekend has started its engines with a weekend full of emotions in the splendid context of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. From Friday 31 March to Sunday 2 April, a crackling sequence of sessions and races saw no less than twelve categories in action and over two hundred drivers at the start of the first round of the season, in the context of an event accompanied by a spring climate and excellent presence of fans. Over twenty hours of live streaming allowed all spectators to enjoy the show staged in the prestigious ‘Temple of Speed’, enhanced by the positive debut of the GT4 Italy and Supersport Series GT championships, in addition to the tasty novelties represented by Porsche Club GT and Lotus Cup Italy.
The eagerly awaited debut of GT4 Italy certainly lived up to expectations, with a top-level starting line-up that characterized the first round of the series which enjoys the official license of SRO Motorsports Group. Two brands of absolute prestige took the win: the Audi R8 LMS of Giovanni Berton (Bolza Corse) in fact won race-1, while the Mercedes AMG of Tommaso Lovati (Lema Racing) prevailed in the second heat. On the podium also Autorlando Sport with Maurizio Fondi (Porsche 997 Cup), who preceded the Mercedes of Adriano Bernazzani in the first round, before settling for third place in race-2 behind the Porsche 718 RS of Dario Baruchelli.
The show was not lacking even in the other covered-wheel categories, well represented by ATCC Italy and ATCC RS, as well as in the single-seaters, thanks to the heated battles offered by the protagonists involved in the FX Pro Series, FX2 and FX3 categories. To top it all off also the presence of quality support series such as Twingo Eurocup, Challenge Ford MPM and Maxx Formula, with the latter allowing the fans present at the racetrack to enjoy the unmistakable sound of naturally aspirated racing cars.
